Imperial China 唐朝 (Teddington)

Day 1 of my break from the office I spent it at Teddington, which is in Richmond upon Thames that is located south-west of London. There I went to have lunch at Imperial China restaurant that is located in the area of Teddington.

My first impression of the restaurant from the outside was it had that Royal China feel to it with the black and the golden colour scheme. But this impression continue inside where it had that grand look you find at Royal China. Each tables are covered in a white table-cloth and the chairs are covered in yellow. I cannot help thinking that maybe this was Royal China but of course it was not, since this is Imperial China.

As for lunch we were there for dim sum and it was the self-marking sheet to order the which dim sums you want. There were a variety range of dim sum you can choose and all are very common ones that you expect to find in most Chinese restaurant that serves dim sum.

Roast pork puff

Minced squid cake

Deep fried dough cheung fun

Some prawn dumpling

Steamed beef tripe with ginger and spring oinon

Steamed Chinese egg cake

Sweet egg yolk bun (this is what also more commonly known as the steamed custard bun)

All the dim sum we ordered were nice and so was the service. I doubt if it was not a friend who recommend us to this place I would have gone to try,  since it was quiet when we arrived there. But it was actually near to the end of dim sums being serve on a weekday.
