MASH is a steak house which opened its first branch in Denmark and then in 2012 opened its first overseas branch in London. This is not only a place to enjoy a nice piece of steak but also to admire the grand interior deco, which has retained many of the original feature of the building.
You can visit MASH for a drink at the bar area where you can enjoy a cocktail and popcorn, whether it is for a pre or post dinner drink.
MASH has a range of different steak cuts to select including Danish dry aged steak, American steak or Australia Wagyu. I went for the Uruguay Fillet Steak (approx 200g) (£30) which was the smallest steak cut on the table but definitely the right size for little me. This was the most tender steak on the menu but will lack the flavour that the other cuts provide.
If you want a specific steak cut then you need to call the sides separately which cost £4.50 each. We ordered a few to share including fries, creamy spinach and mash potatoes with onion and bacon. There are also a range of sauces (béarnaise, pepper, red wine, garlic and thyme jus) to order which are £2.50 each.
MASH serves good steak and can be added alongside Hawksmoor, although both are slightly different and have their uniqueness. Although, I find that MASH is more expensive but has larger variety of steak cuts to select. With 50% off discount earlier this year to celebrate MASH London birthday, we still managed to spend £50 per person.
