Tai Cheong bakery is famous in Hong Kong for its egg tarts. There are many branches around Hong Kong with its orginal shop in Central area of Hong Kong (Address is below). But most convenience to me is usually the one in Mong Kok (Second address below), which is located in the food court of Grand Century Plaza.
The pastry of the egg tart are the butter ones and not the flaky pastry. Both type of pastry are nice, each with its different texture and taste. Although Tai Cheong is famous for its egg tarts, they also do a lot of other item such as coconut tarts, which you will see commonly in Chinese bakeries.
When I was back in Hong Kong, Tai Cheong (Mong Kok) branch had set meal offers that came with a drink. We order two set meal each.
I personally found the egg custard of the tart too sweet, which could just be that I do not have a sweet tooth. But others will disagree with me and say it is nice. Everyone have their own taste of what is nice or not nice. So depends what taste we have…….
