Hong Kong is a food heaven place, because there is just so many food to choose and dessert is no exception. I just love being in Hong Kong, is you can eat from day to night – have dinner and then move on to dessert somewhere else. As many dessert place are open until late.
One of my favourite place and well known in Hong Kong is Hui Lau Shan (許留山). They are all over in Hong Kong, some look more tradition and others are more modern to compete in the modern day and age. I usually go to the one in Mong Kok because it is open till late. But I suppose it is usually near where I be staying.
Hui Lau Shan (許留山), goes back a long time. I know it best for specialising in mango. So you will find loads of varieties of mango desserts to choose from. But if you are not a fan of mango then there are also lots of other non-mango desserts to choose. I had a warm coconut milk with bird nest once, which was a special dessert at the time. That was yummy!
I had their Mango mix with bird nest. So it had mango pudding, fresh mangoes, mango ice cream and some bird nest. It was huge for me and maybe too much mango for me.
When I was there last autumn they did promotion, which was different on each day of the week. This was one of them, little bowl of different mango dessert. There some mango mochi and Chinese mango dessert….
